What this blog is About
On this blog I will be sharing my understanding of financial information available in the market. The information could be about new products, financial legislatives, tax office regulations or debt reduction strategies - basically anything that will help you increase your wealth or protect your existing wealth. There is a lot of jargon out in the market. My aim is to cut out all this jargon and present the information to you in plain English.
What this blog is Not
I am not a certified financial planner. I am not financial whiz woman…I am just a normal work at home mum who wants to increase her knowledge in the subject of personal finance. So what ever I write here should not under any circumstances be taken as financial advice. I am not here to offer financial advice. I am not recommending any products here. I am just trying to analyse and understand everything thats out there in the financial world. Its all my understanding and I also would like to state well in advance that I could be incorrect in some of my assessments.
Why this blog
I got my wealth building bug from my mother. My mother has been a good role model. She is home-maker. She never worked in a corporate environment. She doesn’t have any financial degrees. But her mind is always buzzing with financial ideas.
My father was the bread-winner of the family. My mum looked after the money he brought home well, she made the money work for us. Because of my mother’s interest in all things financial (especially property) we led a comfortable life. My parents are now retired and are leading a comfortable life.
One thing that I always remember when I was growing up was how my mum discussed everything about her investments with us (me and my sister). She never invested in anything hastily. She did a lot of research and only then went ahead and invested her money. And she discussed with me and my sister about most of her decisions.
I never really understood the importance of these discussions at that time. But now I do - she laid the foundations - She showed us how important it was to make money work. She taught us the importance of wealth building. She taught us how important it was to do your research - no impulse investing and definitely no hearsay investing. So you see I owe a lot to her - Thanks mum.
So that is what started my love affair with all things financial - And thats my inspiration and reason for starting this blog.
