Smart Company is one of my favourite Australian websites. It was started by Amanda Gnome. Prior to starting the website, Amanda was working as a full time journalist. The website publishes news that interest the business world - especially the small business world.

Last year they launched ‘Smart Awards’. There awards are in various categories and are given out to some of the best Australian small and medium sized companies. Couple of weeks ago they announced the winners of the Smart Awards 2008.

   I have heard on the grape vine that Provident is going under. Is there any substance to this rumour, i only ask given they won an award for fastest growth…
